SBSA Graduation Cohort 2022-2024
Carlos Payet won the President’s Cup for the 2022-2024 cohort of the Seychelles Business Studies Academy (SBSA). He received the award from President Wavel Ramkalawan during the graduation ceremony held on March 21, 2025. The President’s Cup is awarded to a graduate who excels academically and demonstrates outstanding character.
Carlos completed his Diploma in Business Management and Administration among 195 graduates. He expressed pride in his achievement, noting the support of his family and his faith. Carlos plans to further his studies at university level and advises learners to take their studies seriously and appreciate the free education they receive.
The ceremony also recognised other outstanding learners. Laura Ally received the Medal of Academic Excellence as well as the Most Outstanding performer award for the Diploma in Human Resource Management programme. Jah-Kellah Poris from Diploma in Business Management and Administration and Ruth Canaya from the Diploma in Accounting and Finance, received the Governing Board Awards.
Various other awards were given to graduates for excelling in their respective programmes. For the Certificate in Administrative Skills, the Most Outstanding performer award went to Mikaël Fred, the Best Effort award went to Abigail Faure and the Most Resilient learner award went to Dwaine Mederick.
For the Diploma in Business Management and administration, Emmy Esther won Best effort, Elliza Pool won Most Outstanding performer while the most resilient learner award went to James Pillay.
For the Diploma in Accounting and Finance, the Most Outstanding performer is Stephie Ladouce. The Most Resilient award went to Emmanuella Mohamed-Ali, while Marko Novakov won Best Effort as well as the AAT Award.
For the Diploma in Human Resource Management, the Best effort award went to Alexandra Adela and the Most resilient award went to Elaine Cesar.
Additionally, in terms of the part-time programmes, Leaticia Payet won the Most Outstanding performer award for the Certificate in Business Administration. Staniella Constance won the Most Outstanding performer in AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting while Tracy Monthy came out as the Most Outstanding performer for AAT Diploma in Accounting. Certificates were also presented to learners who attended the ILO short course ‘Start Your Business’ offered to both part-time and full-time learners.
SBSA Director Mrs. Josianne Bristol highlighted that this cohort had 46 learners graduating with Distinctions, compared to 31 last year, making it the best graduating cohort so far. She also mentioned the introduction of the Certificate in Administrative Skills in 2021, which helped learners who did not meet the requirements for Diploma programmes to eventually join and succeed. Among the 15 learners who successfully joined the Diploma in Business Management and Administration programme in 2022 after completing the Certificate in Administrative Skills, 4 graduated with distinctions this year.
Once again, SBSA award recipients received awards sponsored by different organisations namely Office of the President, Ministry of Education, Central Bank of Seychelles, Development Bank of Seychelles, Credit Union, Nouvobanq, Cable and Wireless, Intelvision, SRC, Air Seychelles, HSavy Insurance, SACOS, Prime Insurance, Le Duc de Praslin, Big Up Kreol, Laxmanbhai, Hilton Northolme, Ian Charlette Consulting, Pro Services, PUC, Masons Travel, STC, Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay, Office of the Attorney General, The Guy Morel Institute, Mango House, Members of the SBSA Governing Board, including individuals namely Hon. Doyace Poris, Ms Evelina Antha, Oriana Bristol, Mrs Midzy Ernesta, Mrs Lisette Barra.
